Hair loss appears more prevalent in men than women but the truth is, women are also susceptible to this problem. Women are just more mindful of their appearance such that there aren’t that many bald women around. Society does not find any appeal in bald women unlike bald men such as Michael Jordan, Patrick Stewart, Vin Diesel and the likes. Even Jason Statham who is clearly balding is seen as attractive.



Women don’t lose hair in the similar fashion that the men do. The hairline does not recede. Hair loss occurs on the top part of the head. These could be replaced by hair follicles from the fuller parts of the head. Frequently pulling the hair with rollers or other sources of pressure can also make hair follicles unhealthy.

Women who might have undergone cosmetic surgery would naturally lose hair near the incision marks. Transplant surgery can help women with these cases. Women who have suffered from accidents or got bald spots from injuries can also resort to getting hair replacement surgery.

The good thing about surgically remedying baldness is that you only need to do it once and the healthy hair would stay on your head for the rest of your life. The reason this is so because the healthy hair follicles are resistant to baldness. The hair follicles will not change in composition when its location changes.

Thanks to newer technologies, grafted hair looks more natural and patients recover in a day’s time or two after the surgery. The reason is that the incisions are smaller and more refined which is why the results are hardly detectible.
